Lots of excitement, two victories and superlative ice-hockey: last weekend, the THOMAS SABO Ice Tigers were really able to celebrate in style. In front of around 6,000 fans, the Nuremberg-based ice-hockey team won the ‘Mercedes Benz Rent Cup 2013’ preparation tournament at the Arena Nürnberger Versicherung. To kick off the tournament, the Ice Tigers pipped guest team Rapperswil-Jona Lakers to the post with a commanding 4:1 win. The team around coach Tray Tuomie was able to secure the second victory, and with it the cup, following penalties against top Swiss league team HC Lugano.
The THOMAS SABO Ice Tigers’ season opener celebration also offered fans big and small a colourful overall programme on Saturday.
THOMAS SABO congratulates the team on winning the tournament and looks forward to many more exciting encounters over the coming season.
