Thomas Sabo and his wife support the MANOS PROVIDENTES Foundation, which was established in 1998 by the Theatine order of monks in Cali (Colombia). Amidst a community with huge social problems, the monks look after the needs and concerns of local families.
The objective of the foundation is to provide socially-disadvantaged children and adolescents with a comprehensive education. And to lead them towards a dignified life with the help of Christian values. The THOMAS SABO Foundation supports the charity projects of this monastic order MANOS PROVIDENTES on a long-term basis with money and donations in kind. All of which make an important contribution towards improving the quality of life for people in poverty.
The following projects have already been implemented with this support:
- The establishment of a children’s home for 100 children aged between 1 and 4
- The construction of communal dining rooms for 500 children and
- An air-conditioned room for gatherings, get-togethers and leisure activities
- The establishment of a schooling programme for 450 children from the local community
- The provision and kitting out of rooms for music, dance and theatre
- Further projects are currently in the planning phase
