Note on the Battery Ordinance
Notice in accordance with the Battery Act
As our consignments may contain batteries, we are obliged under the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following: Batteries may not be disposed of with household waste, but you are legally obliged to return used batteries. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled. You can either send the batteries back to us after use or return them free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. at retail outlets or municipal collection centres or in our shops).
The return in the shops is limited to the usual quantities for end users as well as those used batteries that THOMAS SABO carries or has carried as new batteries in its range.
The symbol with the crossed-out dustbin means that you may not dispose of batteries in household waste. On the batteries you may also find the following symbols with the following meanings:
Pb: Battery contains lead
Cd: Battery contains cadmium
Hg: Battery contains mercury
