The azure-blue lapis lazuli (‘lapis’ is Latin for stone; ‘azul’ is Arabic for blue) is the birthstone for all Librans born in September. The Pharaohs considered lapis lazuli to be the most precious of all stones, which is why lapis lazuli is featured in the death mask of Tutankhamen. Lapis lazuli is alleged to be the stone of relationships and friendships.

 

Lapis lazuli is believed to have the following properties:

·         It stands for cleansing, enlightenment, strength and vitality.

·         It leads to wisdom and honesty.

 

The pink-coloured rose quartz is the birthstone attributed to all Librans born in October. According to Greek and Roman mythology, this birthstone was brought down to earth by Eros – the God of Love – to give love to all people. For this reason, it is also described as the ‘stone of love’.

 

Rose quartz is believed to have the following properties:

·         It promotes creativity, expression and imagination.

·         It stands for gentleness and warm-heartedness.
