How do I look after my THOMAS SABO jewellery properly?

Care instructions for our jewellery

  • Protection from damage: To preserve the beauty of the jewellery for a long time, it is advisable to take rings and other pieces of jewellery off during physical activities such as housework, gardening or sport. This keeps them free from scratches and deformation.
  • Pearl care: Pearls are particularly sensitive and should not come into contact with perfume, make-up or hairspray. To protect them optimally, it is advisable to store pearl jewellery separately, e.g. in a soft cloth bag.
  • Store in a dry place: Jewellery should always be stored in a dry, protected place. Over time, moisture can damage the surface and dull the shine.
  • Avoid contact with water, sweat, perfume and make-up: Jewellery should be removed before showering, bathing, swimming or exercising, and before applying perfume, creams or hairspray. This will ensure that the high-quality finish remains beautiful for longer.
  • Store separately: To prevent scratches and scuffing, each piece of jewellery should be stored separately — ideally in a jewellery pouch, case or box.
  • Clean gently: If necessary, the jewellery can be cleaned carefully with a soft, dry cloth or in a jewellery cleaning bath. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents and highly abrasive polishing cloths containing abrasive particles, as these can damage the finishes.

Cleaning

  • Ultrasonic device: Soap and make-up residues can be gently removed with an ultrasonic cleaner. We recommend using only water with a neutral detergent to protect the jewellery.
  • Jewellery care cloth: Slight discolouration can be easily removed with a special jewellery care cloth. For more intensive care, a jewellery care bath can be used.
  • Care products: Exclusive jewellery care cloths and baths for THOMAS SABO jewellery are available in THOMAS SABO stores or in the online shop. They are ideal for 925 sterling silver and gold-plated jewellery. With the right application, the jewellery will shine again in all its glory.

Important notes:

  • Blackened jewellery should not be cleaned in the care bath in order to preserve the special blackening.
  • Jewellery with delicate materials (such as pearls or gemstones) requires special care and should not be treated in the care bath.
  • Precious metal parts of leather, rubber or fabric bands can be cleaned with a silver cloth, but these pieces of jewellery should never be placed in an ultrasonic or silver bath.

With the right care, your jewellery will remain a beautiful and stylish accessory for many years to come.
