Galentine's Day 2020: Cheers to valuable female friendships and sisterhood!
The origins of Galentine's Day
13th February is Galentine’s Day, the day before Valentine’s Day. The concept was invented on the US sitcom Parks and Recreation in 2010. Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope described it as: “Only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies.”
What started as a joke, quickly became a worldwide celebration, with women across the globe celebrating their female best friends… because girls come first. To many women friendships are, in fact, more important than their romantic relationships. It is also true that Valentine’s Day, for some, isn’t always enjoyable when you are not in a couple: this is why all the single ladies will be pleased to know that your relationship status is totally irrelevant when it comes to Galentine’s Day!
With so much emphasis being about treating your other half, why not do the same with your besties? Whether a piece of jewellery or a special experience to enjoy together, today and any other day: cherish and support the women in your life to experience the magic of friendship!

The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle also professed about the importance of friendship during his lifetime (384 B.C. to 322 B.C.) stating that mutual affection in friendship is one of the most necessary things in the life of all people:
In poverty and in misfortune,
friends are the only refuge.
But friendship is not only necessary,
but also beautiful!
