How do I care for my newly pierced ear?
For the first six weeks we recommend

Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your ear stud or ear. Care for the front and back of your ear twice a day with the After Piercing Lotion without removing the ear stud. Rotate the ear stud 2-3 times through 180° to the left and 180° to the right, i.e. only ½ turn each time, to prevent hair from wrapping around the pin of the ear stud on the back of the ear. Keep the ear dry between care applications. Ensure that the ear does not come into contact with hairspray, shampoo, soap or other products. After shampooing, the ear should be rinsed with clear water and then treated with the after piercing lotion as described above. Do not remove the ear stud during the first six weeks. Do not touch your ear and / or the ear stud unnecessarily. Leave the ear stud fastener correctly in the notch of the ear stud pin and check that the ear stud fastener is correctly seated during each care process. This ensures that the ear stud sits securely and that sufficient air reaches the canal. An ear stud that is too tight (see illustration) can lead to an infection.
Tips for replacing the ear stud after the healing phase

Grasp the stud head with the fingernail of the index finger of one hand and the stud fastener with the other hand. Pull on both parts while turning one part to the left and the other to the right. Make sure that you pull both parts apart in a straight line. If the ear stud fastener is too tight, hold a cotton pad soaked in after piercing lotion on it for four to five minutes. Repeat steps 1 - 3 above and the ear stud fastener will loosen more easily.
